SGA: Standard Gun Assembly
When you press the trigger SGA sends out a short (1/40s) pulse of low power invisible infrared laser light which bounces off the wall/screen and is detected by the cameras in the DLS or DPS simulators.
The barrel clamp is suitable for 12g and an adapter is provided for .410 - shown in the photo below.
A SGA is supplied with the wrap-round trigger switch and both are included with DLS and DPS. The wrap-round switch is designed like a tree tie and wraps round the trigger blade so the micro switch is under your trigger finger. It can be used with any sort of gun and is the standard switch provided with every DryFire system.
SGA can also be used with the optional TS22 "Behind-the-blade" Trigger Switch.
SGA clips under the barrel of your shotgun anywhere from the forend to the muzzle and comes with a short length of 2-way cable to connect it to the trigger switch. The clip is made of ABS plastic so it will not mark your gun barrel.
Barrel diameters
There are no international standards for barrel diameters - internal or external - and external diameters may vary from action to muzzle and from manufacturer to manufacturer.
You can add a strip of masking tape or rubber (1mm sheet - or an old vehicle or bicycle inner tube) between the clip and the barrel if required.
SGA is powered by an internal CR2032 button cell battery which can be replaced when the status LED on the back of the unit fails to light up when you press the trigger.
Take care when refitting the base to the top after changing the battery.
Go carefully when screwing into plastic - be sensitive of your finger tips. Things are tight enough when two parts are together and the inner flat face of the screw head is flush with the surface.
Shooting with friends or in a group
Obviously you can share a single gun, with SGA fitted, when shooting with friends but they may prefer to use their own guns - in which case, they will each need a SGA.
The DryFire software is designed for a single shooter but the optional Friends Pack adds an additonal 5 shooters to the system while the Troop Pack adds 20.
The optional Competition software option enables multiple shooters to take part in squadding and competitions.
