Council Tax information

Information about Council Tax bands is held nationally and can be found on the government web site.

There is no charge to find which band a property is in and these postcodes will bring up all the properties in Trusley:

• DE6 5JG - central Trusley up to Trusley Wood Farm
• DE6 5JP - Rook Hills and Trusley Brook
• DE6 5BH - Grangefields
• DE6 5JF - Goldhurst and Hardley Hill

Land Registry searches

The Land Registry keeps a record of all freeholds and leaseholds in the country.

You can use the search by map function to zoom in and bring up details of any location.

Unfortunately the Land Registry makes a charge of £7 for a copy of the title register (showing details of freeholders or leaseholders) and £11 for a copy of the title plan showing boundaries.

Trusley Cadastral Map

A cadastral map shows boundaries and is used by some countries, such as Denmark, for collecting Land Value Tax.

The Land Registry does not produce a cadastral map showing all freehold boundaries but it does provide data that allows other map makers to do so.

Click on the image below for a map of the whole of Trusley parish showing the Land Registry title IDs for all freeholds. The parish boundary is shown in blue with Trusley Brook to the East. Freehold boundaries are shown in black.

Note: areas shown in white (after clicking for the larger version) are not yet registered with the Land Registry.

Below is the list of freeholds in numerical order. The most recently registered titles are at the end.

Details of any freehold (title register and title plan) may be found by entering the title ID into this page on the Land Registry web site. The Land Registry charges for the documents but the descriptions (as shown below) are free.

Note: some freeholds extend beyond the parish boundary. Some are wholly beyond the parish boundary but are part of the Trusley Estate.

Open Street Maps (OSM)

The Ordnance Survey charges for the use of its data but there is a world wide "community" building and editing open source maps.

The OSM map of the Trusley area can be seen here.

Much more data is available if you "Sign up" (top right) with OSM. This if free and requires only your email address. Once registered you can log in and click on "Edit" (top left).

The screen grab was taken with the cursor hovering over the post box in the wall at Home Farm with details shown to the left of the screen. You can hover over anything on the map to bring up more details.

On the right of the screen is a set of vertical toolbar icons and the "Background" tool (shown as a pile of items which are "layers") has been selected. The current background is taken from OpenStreetMap and towards the bottom of the list you will see that "OSMUK Cadastral Parcels" has been selected.

A cadastral map shows boundaries - in this case the blue lines show the boundaries of freeholds recorded by the Land Registry.

Below the background tool is the "Map data" tool which allows specific features to be hidden to remove clutter.

Some features are automatically hidden if you zoom out too far - zoom back in to make them visible.
